I'm sorry to bring bad news after weeks of testing but I and my team are now sure that the referral signup system is not working correctly.
I suggest the AUP admin to contact me on my site or here and to have a look into this.

For information:
We tested this nearly 2 months.
Sometimes the referral is assigned correctly but to 80%-90% the referral is not assigend to the referrer.
We tested dozens of different methods, we invested money and time.
8 members tested it.
We got 100 Signups in total and only 19 were assigned correctly.
All others have no referrer (sponsor).

Below a screenshot from our team forum.
We're talking there about PTSU (PaidToSignUps).
Means: People register through your reflink and they get paid.
The reflink we all advertised (on several different sites) looks always like this:

I use:
Joomla 2.5.4
Jomsocial 2.6.0
AUP 1.7.2

I'm sure you are super busy and have a lot to do with all your plugins and components but it makes me sad that your support here is not helpful or often not present and that you don't reply to my emails although i offer you money to help me.
This problem is something what i cannot fix.
I invested more than $1600 into my site and i bought dedicated QuadCore server.
My site is a very serious project and will become a very famous site within a scene of 2 million possible customers.
We already get daily 6,000+ unique visitors and ~20,000 page views.
The site pre-launched 4 days ago.
So, you see: I mean this serious here and you should know that I'm also here to support AUP and its great features. I'm willing to pay you money to help me.
So, simply tell me if you are able to help me or not.

If you need more information regarding my setup/used plugins/settings, ect. please let me know.

For example: I have Site cache enabled to 10 minutes.

Not to forget: In general it works but not always.
1 out of 10 signups work correctly.

Do you use the system registration of Joomla ?

Not sure what you mean.
Jomsocial uses the Joomla user registration and user groups.

I saw that have 2 redirect plugins running

- System - Redirect Registration
Redirect Registration is a plugin for Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5, which is used to redirect users from Core Joomla Registration Page to Jomsocial Registration page.
In order to work, make sure that Jomsocial is installed.

- Jom Social Registration Redirector
Jom Social Registration Redirector should be used to redirect registration requests from the joomla core system to Jom Social. To setup a menu which links to user profile, use a link to profile without user id.

I disabled the "System - Redirect Registration" plugin but this did not change anything so far we tested.

Your question if i use the system registration of Joomla is also not clear to me.
Do I need to use it? Or not?

Should i enable the "Core Joomla" in the other Plugin "Jom Social Registration Redirector"?



I couldn't find any info regarding this in the Help page or manual.

I don't know what to do anymore. My testings so far:

I disabled both redirection plugins.
I enabled in Alphauserpoints >>> Configuration >>> General >>> System Registration = Joomla! Core


When i visit a site with a referrallink but leave the registration page, surf the site and go back to the registration form then the referrer gets no referral.

It works only when i register immediately without leaving the registration page.


The registration is still the registration process from Jomsocial although i enabled "Joomla! Core" in AUP.

Bernard, any ideas?
How would it be if you check it by yourself on my site?
We test now since weeks, resetting modems, registered now with more than 100 accounts and we don't understand it.
Everything is working so perfectly but not the cookie settings.
I believe it is a simple conflict between Jomsocial/Joomla/AUP and it seems that you are the only person who can help because you coded this great software and until now noone else answered in my threads.
