Try this :

Edit backend/components/com_alphauserpoints/models/statistics.php

search function _save_medaluser ()

and add this at line 319

		// load external plugins
		$dispatcher =& JDispatcher::getInstance();
		JPluginHelper::importPlugin('alphauserpoints');		
		// load external plugins
		$results = $dispatcher->trigger( 'onUnlockMedalAlphaUserPoints', array(&$userinfo, $medal->rank, $medal->image, $medal->description ) );
